Closet Renovation Planning
1) Size
2) Usefulness
3) No. of closets they owned
If you feel that your closet is not perfectly usable, I can tell you, you are not alone. There are many people unhappy with their unusable closet space and it is time for a total closet renovation. Some of you might be thinking, how do we start the closet renovation, from where? I will guide you along as you read on.
There are 2 ways to go about doing the renovation job. One is to know whether it is going to be that type of ‘knock down the walls’ kind of job, or ‘install shelves, hangers and closet organizers’ kind of task. To make sure that after the renovation, the closet should be able to store things quickly as well as to allow you to find your things faster, especially when in a hurry. Let’s go ahead and consider the factors.
The main reason of your closet for you so that you are able to identify the type of closet organizer that you will need. Now if you are storing a lot of similar, larger items, (linens) you can get away with larger compartments, whereas storing lots of small things of all different types (office supplies) requires more and smaller compartments and drawers etc.
The amount of space that you need and ways of accessing your clothes. Like for example there are a true walk-in type or reach-in type. It also depends on the space that you have to spare. You can choose to have a nice and fabulous designer closet if your budget allows too or you can have the space for a closet fit to be featured on home and garden TV.
Next comes one of the most important factor, cost. You need to decide how much budget you have beforehand so that you will not over spend, this is very important. Even better, think ahead to all the other closets you might want to renovate so you have an idea for an overall budget. It is always best to have a functional closet system than having a fancy and nice built-in type just for one closet and you over spend on it, it does not worth it.
Next can be one also one of the most important factor. In this stage, you are going to decide on the actual design of your closet and also the material it is made of, the color and style. You can also flip through some closet magazines before you come to a final decision, there is no rush.
Once you had covered all the above pointers, you are ready to go for some closet shopping. Now you might have the following questions:
1) Should you find a closet expert who will design and deliver a complete system for you?
2) Cruise the DIY stores yourself to find a modular system that you can take home and assemble?
Keep coming back here as I will be covering all these questions too. As long as you have a closet organizer that is up and running after a total closet renovation, you will be able to live in an uncluttered life of joy.
